Remember back in the day when you had to write a short article on what you did for summer vacation? This is pretty much what this post is going to be about. I haven‘t share what I did this summer so I will just put it in one article for you. Maybe you you‘ll be inspired to visit some of these places as well because I had the best time there.
When you travel to popular cities like Rome or Paris, you have certain expectations. When you travel to a less known places, you can truly be surprised. And boy, did Gdansk in Poland surprise me! Gdansk’s Old Town is sooo beautiful and you can easily spend your first day in the city just wandering its streets. We had a spacious apartment in the center of the city and also visited another beautiful city Sopot which is only 10 minutes away from Gdansk.
If you’re a bit unsure about where to go and are wondering what to see around Gdansk, I would highly recommend one of those free walking tours that can be very entertaining. At least that was the case for us.
This was just a great weekend away with my best friend Greta to lithuanian seaside. We still had to work during this trip but it was so much fun. If you need any tips on where to eat in Palanga, let me know because who could have known there are so many great places!
And finally the highlight of the whole summer – Zakopane. At first, I didn‘t know if I will be able to climb any mountain but I did and besides all those sore muscles it was an amazing experience.
The highest peak in Polish Tatra National Park is Rysy – it reaches 2499 metres. Rysy summit is climbed by many hikers each year, however, even though it is usually advertised as simple climb everyone could go for, don’t be mistaken, the hike takes a whole day and requires special preparation.
There are many other easier trails in Tatra mountains you can choose from and for me Giewont (1,895 m) was just a perfect option.
